PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Healthcare experience preferred, understanding of credentialing and enrollment; Information Systems experience; Familar with Credential Stream system.  

Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team

As a DBA at Emory Healthcare, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases

You will work closely with other technical team members, developers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective database operations

Design, implement, and maintain database systems to support business needs. ¿ Ensure the availability, performance, and security of databases

Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and disaster recovery

Monitor and optimize database performance using tuning and troubleshooting techniques

Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard database systems

Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas that support application requirements

Evaluate and recommend database technologies and tools

Create and maintain documentation related to database configuration, processes, and procedures

Troubleshoot database-related issues in a timely manner

Provide on-call support for critical database issues outside of regular business hours

MINIMUM SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

Proven work experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in healthcare industry

Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)

Proficiency in database design, normalization, and performance optimization techniques

Experience with database security best practices

Familiarity with database backup and recovery solutions

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus
