Overview:
APPOINTMENT TYPE: Full-Time Regular
LOCATION: Oak Ridge, TN (Hybrid)
SALARY RANGE: $35.22 - $48.05 per hour
PURPOSE:
Work with ORAU and Information Technology Services (ITS) by supporting the Electronic Information Protection program. Support Information and Cyber Security, Export Control, Privacy, and other programs as needed. Participate in planning and assessment activities and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Administer unclassified and classified Cyber and Information Security program. Duties may include monitoring of security controls, audit and assessment support, computer and mobile device forensics, incident response and recovery support, and security event monitoring and analysis.
Responsible for security controls, secure configurations and baselines for IT software, services, and equipment, support assessments of cyber, information, data, and information security.
Conduct data analysis and security assessment from IT systems using tools such as Splunk.
Provide support for cyber security devices, appliances including routine maintenance, tuning, and lifecycle, and provide technical cyber support to the cyber program and IT department.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, Data Security or related field and 2-4 years of job-related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience performing duties as described may be substituted for the minimum requirements.
Experience administering components of an information security program.
Experience developing security plans and procedures.
Experience conducting data assessments, including categorization using federal standards.
Experience with the development of electronic data protection strategies in accordance with federal standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of US Government classification program and protection requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of classified facility operations and requirements.
Experience conducting Operations Security (OPSEC), risk, and vulnerability assessments.
Must possess project management, problem solving, and technical writing skills.
Must have strong oral and written communications skills.
Some travel outside the Oak Ridge area will be required.
Must be willing to serve on call rotation to respond to security issues.
Must be able to pass a security background investigation; and, to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) Q Clearance.
*The candidate’s starting salary will be determined upon hire and ORAU will use salary survey data, internal comparators, and the candidate’s qualifications to determine salary.
