Overview:
The DevOps Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Card@Once Development Operations (DevOps) strategy to ensure seamless software deployments while maintaining the health, availability, security, and performance of critical business systems. This role ensures the alignment of DevOps practices with the broader IT strategy, driving consistency and standardization across the enterprise where possible.
The DevOps Manager is accountable for the overall service delivery, systems reliability, scalability, and integration for Card@Once operating systems, infrastructure, deployment systems, and automation frameworks. Additionally, the role includes hands-on responsibilities with a broad understanding of application and systems integration, backend infrastructure, network architecture, build and release engineering, security, and compliance.
This role also involves managing the team responsible for supporting the Card@Once infrastructure environment, deploying software, troubleshooting, resolving systems issues, and optimizing system performance. The DevOps Manager liaises with internal cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure that DevOps initiatives contribute to business success and meet stakeholder needs.
Responsibilities:
Organize and prioritize projects and daily tasks for a team of technical engineers ensuring risks are pro-actively mitigated and work is completed in a timely manner
Develop, maintain, and report on project plans, time-lines, and system documentation to ensure visibility and proper tracking of projects and issues.
Mentor, train and coach team members with a focus on leadership, career development, and operational excellence.
Make staffing decisions based of business needs and individual performance
Create meaningful goals that contribute to organizational strategies, then lead a team to achieve them
Collaborate cross-functionally within IT and with external vendors to prioritize and resolve technical issues, providing subject matter expertise on infrastructure improvements.
Collaborate with the Development Manager on release planning, preparation, validation, post-release monitoring, and ongoing system enhancements.
Handle escalations from Card@Once business teams and customers, giving a high level of service to support both internal and external stakeholders
Identify and address performance gaps across all systems through proactive monitoring and continuous process improvements.
Develop operational standards and processes to pro-actively prevent system failures and security breaches.
Lead and manage the execution of DevOps strategies ensuring high system availability and optimal performance.
Oversee PCI DSS compliance efforts and audits, ensuring the team adheres to security standards and mitigates any identified risks.
Continuously research and enhance the organization’s system capabilities across on-premises and the potential for future cloud platforms.
Evaluate technological solutions, including on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based technologies, assessing present and future opportunities, risks, and ROI.

B.S. or M.S. Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
8+ years demonstrated success in related IT profession, including 5+ years of hands-on experience with Infrastructure, Network and IT Operations disciplines
3+ years of leading and managing teams
Qualifications:

Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work, both personally and at a team level

Solid working knowledge of most of the following:
o SDLC processes such as Kanban and Scrum
o Development and scripting utilizing a variety of common tools and languages
o Windows Server support/migration/administration
o Configuration management and automation/deployment solutions tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, SaltStack, Octopus, Cfengine, Jenkins, Git, Docker, Nagios, etc.
o SQL (MS SQL Server)
o Web API, Restful Services, and WCF Services
o Central authentication platforms, such as Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos/IDM
o Virtualization tools such as ESX/Xen/KVM, etc.
o General Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, troubleshooting
o Technology principles such as observability, least privileged, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD
A working understanding of SOX and PCI regulations, a plus
Experience working in a highly-regulated or highly secure business, a plus
Experience working in a Linux environment, a plus
Experience working with Intrusion detection/prevention, encryption and data loss protection tools and processes, a plus
Physical Demands:
This position requires; ability to work from home and be onsite in the office; work a minimum of 40 hours per week;
Hours are minimum 40 hours per week during company’s regular business hours however evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand;
Work is in a typical office environment; prolonged sitting required (1-2 hours at a time); ability to move around the office to attend meetings; deliver items; gather supplies; set up meetings; etc. lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally.
Work environment: Usual office setting; close contact with employees for long periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
Position may require minimal travel by car and/or plane
