Job Title: Network Engineer

Location(s): San Diego, CA

Responsibilities:

Creating router configuration files.

Report on-site at one of the switch facilities.

Research existing router for current conditions at that cell site, figure out what we’re migrating to. Are we move to an existing or new?

Log online, plan for the daily schedule, prep for migrations, generate files, talk and coordinate with field engineers

Troubleshoot issues along the way

4+ Migrations a day target

Hub Migrations – 20-30 cell sites migrating at the same time (pre-loading config files)

Lot of Provisioning work

Performing bandwidth updates.

Qualifications:

Switches and routers experience - MUST

Experience with Nokia routers provisioning - MUST

Telecom/ Military background – MUST

3 to 5 years of related experience – MUST

Experience with router migrations (Nokia Series 7550 IXREs, and CIENA 6154s) – MUST

Experience with MLS Routers (91As or 7750s) - MUST

Routing knowledge of IP networks - MUST

Experience with bandwidth upgrades and provisioning / administrative cleanups in the routers 

Router Provisioning experience – MUST

Experience with CIENA migration (CIENA B40 or 7750) and Hub migration - MUST

Would like to see job title as Switch Engineer/ Network Engineer

Previous background with Transport technologies would be helpful.
