Software Developer - Senior

Provide a short description of the Position: Act as Senior Software Developer working for NYS Information Technology Services on behalf of the NYS Department of Transportation to fulfill the duties as described below.

Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: " Primarily responsible for Supporting and Maintaining .NET applications " Assist with modernizing MS Access Database applications written in MS Access, to other technologies (Oracle, MS SQL, Java). " Manage and develop data extracts and reporting. " Perform system testing and development of testing plans, presentation of training, and planning /execution of large enterprise data systems and applications. " Handle business and technical design, and determine optimum solutions to meet business objectives. " Implement features and functionality to meet new agency business requirements. " Technical troubleshooting on complex issues that span enterprise systems and multiple data sources requiring rapid resolution. " Implementation of new applications and modernization of existing. " Use a ticketing system to track and manage incidents, service requests, problems, changes, and release/deployment. " Support off-hours application testing and emergency response efforts in resonse to critical outages. " Candidates will assume an on-call status during emergency activation of the command center (STICC).
