The Sr. IT Project Manager oversees the successful delivery of assigned projects by managing all stages of the full project life cycle from initiation to completion. They are a highly organized people and process leader with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. They prepare reports for upper management regarding status of the team and projects. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals of the team. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically, will manage two to three medium to large projects at any one time.

Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution

Lead project management functions for IT teams to deliver highly scalable and flexible solutions to support growth and diversification strategies for the organization.

Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to closing.

Plan and manage multiple complex technical projects to ensure they are proceeding according to the agreed to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Facilitate project kick off, project planning activities, and various project management team meetings.

Determine and define project scope and objectives and effectively manage changes.

Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all stages of the project to drive efficiency.

Maintain project documentation and artifacts.

Risk and Issue Management

Continuously identify and resolve risks and issues that may negatively impact a project or project deliverables by implementing mitigation plans and strategies.

Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.

Stakeholder and Team Collaboration

Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.

Coordinates activities and deliverables across multiple teams including IT, business, and external vendor service providers.

Identify and develop trusted advisor relationships with project stakeholders.

Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members.

Process Improvement and Compliance

Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to build and mature these capabilities for the IT PMO.

Contribute towards the continuous improvement of project delivery processes.

Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities to keep stakeholders informed.

Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in information systems management, computer science, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience with demonstrated ability required.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Minimum five (5) plus years’ experience working as a Project Manager or in a project leadership role required.

Project Management experience within Information Technology, Software Development, or other Technical Engineering industry strongly preferred.

Excellent experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall required.

Leadership and Influence:

Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation), and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to influence and gain buy-in from executive sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers.

Experience working both independently with little or no direct supervision and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Experience leading, motivating and managing project teams of diverse sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.

Organizational and Planning Skills

Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and adapt smoothly to rapidly shifting work priorities and schedules.

Competent in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.

Strong attention to detail required.

Excellent experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall required,

Innovation and Problem-Solving:

Innovative, agile learner with a desire for continual process improvements.

Adept at applying disparate elements of information to understand complex problems.

Demonstrates flexibility and ability to proactively seek new solutions; seek new opportunities for optimized team and platform performance.

Working knowledge of Data Integration and ETL Processes, as well as, associated data tools, including SQL, Python, and Power BI, within a public cloud setting is a plus.

Technical Proficiency and Compliance:

Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), MS Project, Azure DevOps, and Teams.

Working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, FERPA, GLBA, DoE Blue Book, Accreditation Standards, etc.) preferred

Working knowledge of PPM tools preferred.
