One of our Utilities clients is looking for an experienced Desktop Support Specialist in Reno, NV

Description:

General Purpose

Support clients of the company systems.

Desktop support responsibilities include; imaging new PCs or laptops, hardware/software setup and configuration, remote control, and phone support to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Responsibilities of this position include the following:

Under direct supervision, provide accurate, timely, and known solutions to end user computer and networking problems of basic to moderately complex nature to ensure end-user productivity.

Perform restorative and maintenance actions either remotely or at the end user’s location to resolve problems using basic troubleshooting and technical skills.

Respond to situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing problem equipment or software installations, moves, and configuration changes.

Maintain accurate information and data regarding end-user issues within the tracking system and according to policies and standards.

Establish a working relationship and understanding of dedicated support area to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients and management.

Develop, work through, and complete small projects as well as document processes and procedures according to corporate standards.

Delegate responsibilities of the project to appropriate team members and provide status to supervisors and clients.

Perform other tasks as requested or assigned.

Requirements for this position include the following:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically, four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a Bachelor’s degree.

A minimum of two years additional directly related technical experience is required.)

Basic hands-on experience in a technical support role that includes some desktop PC support responsibilities.

Show basic competency in troubleshooting desktop device conflicts, connectivity issues, and application issues in a Windows operating system in a Novell environment.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work well independently and with others.

A+ Certification
