JOB DESCRIPTION
Cobol AS/400 Developer -
Current infrastructure IBM I5 Series (AS400) and continued Operations and Maintenance on IBM I9 series.
This supports the Unemployment Insurance and Temporary Disability Insurance Systems.
We currently have a project to upgrade our current I5's to the I9 series. Once the upgrade is completed, this Contractor would be responsible for:
Responsibilities and Duties
Performing IBM iSeries, administration of security and roles within UI and TDI Applications.
Perform deployments to Production as part of the system development life cycle.
Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, analysis and required tuning
Testing operating system and application software releases, and loading fixes in both test and productions environments
Developing and maintaining procedures for system utilities, such as backups, restores, and configurations and performing daily and weekly backups of production systems and other backups as required.
Install, upgrade, configure, test and maintain 3rd party software applications.
Develop/maintain Disaster Recovery Plans and coordinate/perform Disaster Recovery Testing
Implement the internal and external auditing requirements and enforce IRS Publication 1075 requirements.
Prepare and Lead quarterly capacity reviews, covering but not limited to: current period growth, trends, next period forecast, concerns and replenishment recommendations
Patch maintenance and troubleshooting - Keeping up-to-date patch-levels as per policies.
Prepare, Plan and Implement OS Upgrade and troubleshoot upgrade issues
HMC and LPAR management, which includes the Firmware and Service pack upgrades
Maintenance of all IBM i systems and related hardware
Maintenance of communication between IBM I systems and other systems as required.
Interact with vendors on regular basis to resolve technical issues
Maintain optimal storage of the IBM i servers by running regular housekeeping jobs.
Provide support for Application team in running production critical jobs and reports.
Create and Maintain schedules and documentation of all critical processes.
Skills: iSeries-Platform-AS400 Experience: 5+ years
