Release Environment specialist/ Release Coordinator
Location: Charlotte, NC/Detroit, MI (Within that location only, no out of state candidates will be considered to work remotely )
Duration: 4 months with possible contract to hire/ with possible extension

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Release and Environments Management Specialist to join our Digital Engineering Operations team. This role will support our Digital Release Management and Environments Management functions by tracking and driving strategic work efforts, identifying and implementing process improvements, maintaining team documentation, and coordinating test environment needs for strategic initiatives. This role will be key to ensuring the team stays focused on our strategic goals of modernization, automation, and engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Own the project plan for our release automation strategy and other modernization and improvement initiatives.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance release and environments management functions.
Documentation: Create, maintain, and improve team documentation in Confluence.
Take ownership: Proactively drive resolution of escalated environment outages, team blockers, and other impediments with unclear ownership.
Environment Coordination: Partner with delivery and tech leads from development teams of incoming strategic initiatives to identify special environment needs and track the status of environment configuration activities.
Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory Skills
Proven experience in release management, environments management, technical delivery, or a similar role Strong communication and collaboration skills. Strong knowledge of Agile and CI/CD principles Experience managing work in Jira and Confluence Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive resolution for complex issues Experience working in a fast-paced environment where quick decisions are often needed
Desired Skills
Experience navigating compliance requirements in a regulated industry.
Previous experience with implementing automation.
Certification in ITIL or similar frameworks.

This position is within Digital release and environment team.
Client mobile app, customer facing applications. Tyey have a lot of other customers facing applications as well. 2000 members in product team, will work closely with them.
Fast paced environment, culture wise fairly casual. Business casual dress code.
Few years of experience under development would be good. Scrum master, Release coordinator, Technical analyst background would be ideal for this role.
Soft skills are most important here.
Ability to multitask. Prioritize the task and get the job done.
Agile and CI/ CD knowledge. Jira and Confluence. Gitlab release experience. All apps are in Gitlab. Gillab experience are a plus.
Familiarity with ITIL/ ITSM,
Notes:
They don t need someone to build up environment, but coordinate environment builds activities. In specific environment needs they may contribute to environment build up but not regular. They have 2 dozens of release coordinator.
Release train engineering is not required as they are not in Safe Agile.
Experience Level:
Not looking for senior PM level profiles.
Need someone mid-level who can come up and follow the process does not try to define the process
